KUWAIT CITY, April 14 : The Kuwait Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for Monday, forecasting high temperatures -- expected maximum is 38 degrees Celsius -- with active to strong southwestern winds of more than 60 km/h.
Acting Director of the Kuwait Meteorological Department, Dhrar Al-Ali stated to KUNA that the dust storm would be triggered by the passage of a cold front this afternoon, which will shift winds to northwest.
Visibility is expected to drop to less than 1,000 meters and may reach zero in some areas by the evening, sea waves may rise to over six feet, and the dust is expected to gradually settle overnight.
Weather conditions are forecast to improve by Tuesday morning, accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperatures, with lows reaching 20 degrees Celsius, and highs around 31 degrees Celsius.
The department advises the public, especially people with asthma or allergies, to stay indoors and avoid going out unless necessary.
Vehicle drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution on highways due to sudden drops in visibility, sea-goers are also warned about the high wave activity, and the public is encouraged to stay updated by checking the official website, mobile app, and social media accounts of the Meteorological Department for the latest weather developments.
