KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: The Ministry of Health will host the 20th conference of the International Arab Society of Critical Care Medicine on January 30, alongside the first Arab conference of the World Federation of Intensive Care and Critical Care Societies. Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Fares, Consultant of Internal Medicine and Critical Care, Head of the Department of Anesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Management at Amiri Hospital, and Chairman of the conference, announced in a press statement on Saturday.
Dr. Al-Fares emphasized that the choice of Kuwait as the venue for these conferences for the first time reflects the country's prestigious position in the field of intensive care. He noted that the event would run concurrently with several key conferences, including the 9th International Arab Society of Critical Care Medicine Conference, the 16th Asia and Africa Conference of the World Federation of Intensive Care and Critical Care Societies, the 12th Kuwait Conference on Intensive Care, the 2nd Kuwait Conference on Extracorporeal Life Support, and the 6th Regional Meeting of the Neurocritical Care Society's Middle East and North Africa Branch.
This event will be the largest in the history of intensive care, featuring over 110 lecturers from around the world, as well as 40 local experts from various intensive care specialties. More than 135 lectures will be delivered across three parallel tracks, alongside 14 specialized workshops.
Dr. Al-Fares emphasized that the conference aims to provide continuing medical education opportunities in intensive care medicine, focusing on the latest advancements in healthcare provision, clinical practice, medical research, and quality improvement in the field.
In addition to the educational sessions, the conference will feature an exhibition showcasing the latest medical technologies in intensive care. The event is expected to attract around 1,500 participants, including doctors specializing in intensive care, anesthesia, emergency and internal medicine, as well as emergency surgeons, intensive care nurses, and professional support teams from across the region.
