Kuwait to Impound Vehicles with Noisy Exhausts for 60 Days

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Traffic Department, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying traffic campaigns and setting up fixed and mobile inspection points to seize vehicles with illegally modified exhausts that produce excessive noise. The crackdown also targets garages that install these unauthorized exhaust systems, which will face immediate closure.


Authorities have declared that any vehicle found in violation will be impounded for 60 days, and legal action will be taken against its driver. Furthermore, workshops / Garages and companies involved in supplying or installing these illegal modifications will be shut down immediately, with those responsible referred to the relevant authorities for prosecution. Inspectors from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry have been deployed to workshops to monitor, identify, and shut down violators.


The Ministry of Interior has emphasized its unwavering stance on enforcing the law strictly to combat this issue. Vehicle owners are urged to comply with traffic regulations, as authorities will continue intensive security campaigns to apprehend violators and take swift legal action against them.
