KUWAIT CITY, Sep 22: The Dubai Sports Council made a significant announcement revealing that Dubai is set to host the inaugural Arab Padel Championship. This event is scheduled to take place from September 27 to October 1 and will feature the active participation of 11 Arab nations, including Kuwait, as well as a select group of top-tier players.

The official announcement was made during a press conference held today, attended by the President of the UAE Padel Federation, Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum. The conference provided comprehensive details about the tournament, which is slated to be held at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Hall, representing a major gathering for this sport within the Arab region.

Ahmed Ghatouri, President of the Arab Padel Federation, expressed his enthusiasm for the historic event, highlighting that this championship will unite 11 Arab nations for the very first time. Notably, five of these countries are making their debut in official Padel competitions. Ghatouri expressed his hopes for further Arab nations to join in the future, thereby contributing to the growth and popularity of Padel across the Arab world.

Saeed Al Marri, Secretary-General of the UAE Padel Federation, affirmed their commitment to organizing the event to the highest standards, reflecting the UAE's pivotal role in promoting and advancing the sport throughout the Arab region. He noted that Padel has gained significant traction in the Arab world, emphasizing its position as a widely embraced sport.

The participating teams were subject to a draw ceremony by the organizing committee, resulting in two groups. The first group includes teams from the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Iraq, and Morocco, while the second group comprises Kuwait, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan, Sudan, and Syria.
