KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: In line with the ongoing digital transformation, the government is advancing efforts to improve the efficiency of its services. A key initiative in this direction is the launch of a data exchange platform designed to streamline information sharing among government entities and minimize dependence on paper-based documentation.
The Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) has informed ministries of the requirements for the operation of the "National Platform for Data Exchange between Government Agencies." According to CAIT, data entry is currently underway as part of preparations for the platform's official launch.
Government agencies have been asked to provide evidence of the documents they issue to other entities for transaction purposes. Examples include passports containing details such as the passport number, names in both Arabic and English, and the date of birth.
The agency confirmed that a joint meeting will be convened at a later stage to finalize document lists, determine launch timelines, and appoint representatives responsible for the technical and service aspects of the initiative in each organization.
The platform, described as a centralized system, aims to enable secure and efficient data exchange among government entities using unified technology. This will enhance service efficiency and eliminate the need for citizens and residents to submit identification documents repeatedly. Unified standards and policies will govern the data exchange process to ensure consistency across agencies.
This initiative follows a Cabinet decision issued in August 2024, which mandated CAIT to take all necessary steps to implement the platform. Additionally, Ministerial Resolution No. 86 of 2024 established an Executive Committee tasked with overseeing the project's implementation and coordinating with state agencies to expedite its completion.
