ABU DHABI, Feb 6: Sheikh Mohammad Ahmad Al-Sabah, Chairman of Kuwait's Artificial Intelligence of Things Association (AAIoT), announced on Wednesday that the society will soon launch an initiative in collaboration with the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT). The initiative aims to train 1,000 Kuwaiti programmers and equip them with advanced programming and artificial intelligence skills to meet the growing needs of the local market and boost Kuwait's position in the modern technology sector.
Sheikh Mohammad highlighted the importance of educating the community about digital transformations and their significance. "Our goals include raising awareness about these changes, and with this in mind, we are launching this initiative. We also welcome the support and participation of both the public and private sectors to ensure its success," he told KUNA during his participation in the first edition of the Artificial Intelligence World Summit, which began in Abu Dhabi yesterday and will continue for two days.
He emphasized the importance of cooperation in developing a sustainable and advanced technological environment to serve Kuwait’s digital future, particularly as the country progresses steadily towards digital transformation.
Sheikh Mohammad also shared that the society is working on developing a National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications, the body responsible for the sector in the country. This strategy reflects Kuwait’s commitment to adopting the latest technologies to drive economic and technological progress.
The Kuwait Association for Artificial Intelligence of Things is actively participating in the summit to strengthen its regional and international presence in the technology sector. The society is also working to sign agreements and memoranda of understanding with various government agencies and leading Emirati companies to exchange expertise in artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. These efforts aim to build an advanced digital system that aligns with Kuwait's aspirations.
Sheikh Mohammad further stressed that their participation in the summit is part of a broader effort to enhance cooperation between Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, exchange knowledge and expertise, and work towards a unified regional artificial intelligence strategy. He underscored the importance of hosting such events to raise awareness about technological developments among decision-makers and society. He also called on GCC countries to intensify their efforts to bolster their technological leadership on a global scale.
It is worth noting that the Artificial Intelligence World Summit, one of the largest gatherings of technology specialists, is hosting more than 200 speakers and 500 executives from around the world in the field of artificial intelligence.
