One of the officials led Kuwait U-18 to Cairo.

DOHA, Aug 20, (KUNA): Kuwait's national Under-15 basketball team claimed second place in the Gulf Basketball Association (GBA) Cup after a hard-fought final against Bahrain, ending in a 58-70 defeat. The tournament took place in Doha, Qatar. Owaid Al-Anzi, head of the Kuwaiti delegation, commended the players for their strong performance and competitiveness throughout the championship, offering words of encouragement despite the loss.

Meanwhile, The Kuwait U-18 basketball team departs today for Cairo, Egypt, to conduct an external training camp until the 31st of this month. This camp is part of its preparation for the Asian Youth Cup finals, to take place in Amman, Jordan, from September 2nd to 11th.

The delegation, led by Mishaal Mohammed, a member of the board of directors, includes Mohsen Al-Mutairi as the team administrator, Abdullah Al-Rayes as the supervisor, Salman Ramadan as the head coach, and Khaled Al-Qallaf as the assistant coach. The squad comprises 16 players: Adel Al-Saeed, Adam Asadullah, Abdulaziz Al-Qattan, Talal Fahd, Muhammad Al-Saeedi, Omar Al-Essa, Adnan Adhbiah, Muhammad Al-Shammari, Ahmed Al-Rashid, Abdulaziz Al-Mutawa, Fahd Al-Dosari, Ahmed Al-Ubaid, Ahmed Al-Loughani, Amir Asadullah, Wael Al-Anzi, and Ali Al-Hindal.

Kuwait will play in four friendly matches against Al-Etisalat, Al-Jazeera, Al-Ahly, and the Egyptian youth team. The Kuwait U-18 team qualified for the Asian Youth Cup finals along with the Qatar, after finishing second in the regional qualifiers held in Kuwait earlier this August. Kuwait will be competing in Group B alongside Iran, South Korea, and India. Mishaal Mohammed highlighted the intense competition expected at the Asian Championship and emphasized the federation's commitment to ensuring adequate preparations for the team.
