Kuwait University elevates position in QS World University Rankings.

KUWAIT CITY, June 5: Kuwait University has significantly improved its position in the latest QS World University Rankings 2025, announced during a conference held in Washington on June 4. The university’s ranking increased to the 801-850 range globally, out of 5,663 universities. This advancement reflects Kuwait University’s strong commitment to enhancing the quality of scientific research, continuously developing its academic programs, and strengthening its local and global presence.

In a statement, the university highlighted its role as the largest public institution in Kuwait, offering a diverse range of scientific specializations, from humanities and social sciences to engineering and health sciences. “Kuwait University is proud to prepare distinguished graduates who meet labor market needs and contribute to societal and economic development,” the statement read.

Acting Director of Kuwait University, Dr. Nawaf Al-Mutairi, emphasized the university’s dedication to its strategic plan and operational initiatives aimed at achieving excellence. “We strive for continuous evaluation and improvement in all areas related to our four strategic pillars: quality, innovation, sustainability, and presence,” Al-Mutairi said, noting that these efforts have positively impacted the university’s ranking.

Dr. Fayez Al-Dhafiri, Acting Secretary General and official spokesman for the university reiterated the institution’s commitment to excellence in both academic and administrative aspects. He stressed the importance of continued growth and positive impact, ensuring that the labor market receives high-quality graduates.

“This rise in the international rankings testifies to Kuwait University’s success in achieving growth and making a positive influence in the global academic arena,” Al-Dhafiri concluded.
