KUWAIT CITY, July 29: Dr. Fadel Aziz, Acting Dean of Admissions and Registration at Kuwait University, announced the completion of the admission application process for Kuwaiti students and children of Kuwaiti women who graduated from high school and met the university's admission requirements. A total of 8,880 students have been accepted for the 2024/2025 academic year, with all students who met the criteria being placed in their chosen specializations.
Dr. Aziz clarified that this number excludes students accepted into external missions and Abdullah Al-Salem University, who opted to continue their studies elsewhere, as well as those whose grades did not meet the minimum requirements for their desired specializations. He noted that new applications for the second semester will be accepted at a later date announced by the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, as no changes to specializations can be made after the application period ends.
To ensure transparency, the minimum acceptance rates for all specializations and colleges will be published, with each student's digital code indicating their accepted specialization. Students can access their acceptance details through the university's electronic admission system or the Sahel application.
Dr. Aziz emphasized that admission competition was based on equivalent rates or secondary school percentages without discrimination between genders or between Kuwaitis and children of Kuwaiti women. The equivalent rate combines academic aptitude test results and secondary school certificate percentages.
Newly admitted Kuwaiti students and children of Kuwaiti women from the unified system and religious institute must pay a KD10 fee through the KNET payment system to confirm their admission. Those who graduated from American and English high schools must submit their documents in person at the admission and registration hall from July 30 to August 1, 2024, as specified by text messages.
English high school students expecting to graduate and who applied electronically must submit their final results within two working days of their announcement to be accepted according to the university's minimum requirements.
The registration for new students in academic courses will take place from August 18 to August 22, 2024. Each student will receive a text message with their specific registration date, which can also be checked on the university's website.
Dr. Aziz expressed his gratitude to Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, Acting President of Kuwait University Dr. Nawaf Al-Mutairi, college deans, Admissions Department staff led by Ms. Samar Al-Awadhi, Information Systems Center employees, and the Security and Safety Department for their efforts and cooperation during the admission process.
In conclusion, Dr. Aziz congratulated the new students and their families, wishing them success and excellence in their university journey.
