KUWAIT CITY, July 15: Kuwait University has announced the introduction of a nursing major in the College of Allied Medical Sciences for the academic year 2024/2025, a move aimed at addressing the country's shortage of medical personnel. This was confirmed by Dr. Fayez Al-Dhafiri, Acting Secretary-General and Official Spokesperson for Kuwait University.
Dr. Al-Dhafiri highlighted the university’s response to labor market demands by re-offering the nursing program. "This decision is in direct response to the labor market needs and aims to solve the crisis of the shortage of medical personnel," he stated.
The announcement was made during the electronic application process for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Dr. Al-Dhafiri emphasized that the Deanship of Admission and Registration has been proactive in providing detailed guidelines on admission requirements, available programs, and required university periods. An exhibition was recently held at the Avenues Mall to directly reach prospective students and address their inquiries electronically.
"The university’s official websites provide clear instructions for categories that meet the admission requirements, along with the time periods for submitting applications," Dr. Al-Dhafiri noted. "The number of students accepted for the year 2024/2025 will be announced after the completion of the application process, based on the available programs, which have varying conditions for each specialization."
Dr. Al-Dhafiri extended his gratitude to the Dean of Admissions and Registration Dr. Fadhel Aziz, along with the Admissions Department, Public Relations and Media Department, Security and Safety Department, and other concerned departments for their cooperation. Their efforts have facilitated the enrollment process, ensuring smooth reception and assistance for prospective students and their parents.
This strategic initiative by Kuwait University underscores its commitment to aligning educational offerings with national healthcare needs and improving the overall medical workforce.
