KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: Kuwait University’s College of Life Sciences announced on Sunday the launch of a new Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program, set to begin in the 2025-2026 academic year. This program will be the university’s first specialized offering in artificial intelligence.
Acting Dean of the College of Life Sciences, Dr. Nawaf Al-Hajri, stated in a press release that the initiative aligns with the New Kuwait 2035 vision, which aims to advance vital sectors and foster technological innovation in response to the global digital revolution. The program will focus on areas such as big data and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Al-Hajri emphasized that the program seeks to develop skilled national professionals capable of addressing future challenges in this rapidly evolving field and meeting labor market demands amid ongoing digital transformations. He noted that the program’s establishment was supported by the university administration, reflecting both global and local trends toward digital transformation in modern technology.
He further highlighted that the program will serve as a cornerstone in building a knowledge- and technology-based economy, contributing significantly to the development of various critical sectors in Kuwait.
Dr. Al-Hajri underscored that this initiative marks a pivotal step in enhancing Kuwait University’s reputation as a leading educational institution offering innovative academic programs tailored to the needs of local, regional, and international labor markets.
The program has been designed in accordance with the latest international academic standards and follows guidelines issued by specialized academic organizations in computer science and artificial intelligence.
