KUWAIT CITY, Nov 14:  On Wednesday, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs, inaugurated the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretariat pavilion at the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center. This pavilion, showcased for the first time in conjunction with Kuwait’s hosting of the 45th Gulf Summit in early December, celebrates GCC unity and achievements.

The inauguration was attended by key officials, including Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, who also heads the summit's Supreme Preparatory Committee; Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Noura Al-Fassam; GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi; Deputy Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; and ambassadors from GCC countries.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Al-Mashaan highlighted the significance of holding this exhibition at the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center, symbolizing Kuwait’s commitment to cultural unity and knowledge. She emphasized the center's role as a cultural landmark attracting visitors from Kuwait and beyond, particularly youth interested in science, technology, and space.

Dr. Al-Mashaan noted that the GCC pavilion complements this vision by illustrating the journey of the GCC, established as a symbol of Gulf solidarity and a safeguard for its member states, strengthening bonds among the region’s people. She commended the GCC’s achievements across various sectors over the past four decades, crediting the progress to the wise leadership of the rulers of GCC states.

The pavilion highlights major development projects and cooperative initiatives contributing to growth, sustainability, and improved well-being for GCC citizens. It also showcases achievements in economic development, infrastructure, education, environment, health, and more.

Dr. Al-Mashaan expressed gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, the Amiri Diwan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the summit's organizing committee for their support in making the pavilion a success. She also thanked GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi and the Secretariat team for their efforts in organizing the event.

In his remarks, Al-Budaiwi extended appreciation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his ongoing support of the GCC. He expressed pride that Kuwait is hosting the pavilion during the 45th Gulf Summit in early December, hoping the summit would yield positive outcomes for the Gulf region.

Al-Budaiwi explained that the pavilion reflects the vision of GCC leaders to keep GCC citizens informed of the council's accomplishments and its progress toward regional integration. He emphasized that the pavilion will be open to Kuwaiti citizens and residents, providing insight into the GCC’s milestones across various fields.

Open until December 13, the pavilion offers a comprehensive overview of the GCC’s formation and achievements over four decades of cooperation. The exhibition serves as a platform to strengthen shared identity and cooperation among GCC citizens, with hopes that future Gulf Summits will feature similar GCC pavilions to foster unity and showcase the council’s ongoing accomplishments.
