Kuwait volleyball team heads to Cairo for training camp ahead of the Arab Championship

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 19: The Kuwait national volleyball team will travel to Cairo tomorrow for a 10-day training camp, as part of their preparations for the 23rd Arab Men’s Volleyball Championship, set to take place in Bahrain from October 29 to November 11.

The delegation, headed by Hamoud Al-Badali, Assistant Treasurer of the Volleyball Federation, includes team manager Mohammed Al-Balushi and a technical staff led by Argentine coach Julian Alvarez. His support team consists of assistant coach Zaid Al-Kazemi, fitness trainer Kozak Germoral, statistician Lux Al-Burg, and physiotherapist Ahmed Al-Aqrabi. The roster features 14 players: Saud Al-Duwaisan, Mohammed Suwaid, Abdullah Fares, Rashid Anbar, Fahd Saad Yaqoub, Ahmed Al-Munais, Ibrahim Mandeel, Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa, Ali Saadoun, Mishaal Al-Omar, Abdullah Bouftin, Adhbi Malik Al-Enezi, Omar Abdulrahman Al-Enezi, and Abdulaziz Najm. During the camp, the team will play 3-4 friendly matches before heading directly to Bahrain.

Assistant coach Zaid Al-Kazemi confirmed that the team has completed its local preparation phase under an integrated training program, overseen by coach Julian Alvarez. The program focused on enhancing the players’ physical, technical, and skill development. The team also played friendly matches against Burgan and Al-Sulaibikhat, both reinforced by professional players.

Al-Kazemi emphasized that the coaching staff is working with a blend of young talent and experienced players, in coordination with the Federation, aiming to build a competitive team for the future. He praised the players' commitment during the preparation period, which demonstrates their dedication to improving and representing Kuwait at a high level in the upcoming championship.
