KUWAIT CITY, Dec 6: The Supreme Committee for Nationality Investigation, tasked with reviewing citizenship cases, continues to scrutinize and study the files presented to it, resulting in a steady rise in the number of individuals affected by its decisions.
In its latest meeting, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, the committee approved the withdrawal and revocation of Kuwaiti citizenship from 2,162 individuals. These cases will now be presented to the Council of Ministers for final approval.
According to informed sources, all files undergo rigorous examination and review to ensure decisions comply with established legal procedures.
With this announcement, the total number of individuals whose Kuwaiti citizenship has been revoked over the past 99 days — from August 29 to December 5 — has reached 9,132. A significant portion of these cases involve women.
The committee's weekly reports show a breakdown of the affected cases: 5,870 individuals in November, 820 in October, 202 in September, and 78 in August. The ongoing investigation underscores the committee's commitment to ensuring all cases are handled with thoroughness and adherence to the law.
