UAE, Oct 6: Kuwait wraps up its training camp in Dubai, UAE, with a final practice session today before heading to Muscat for a crucial clash against Oman this Thursday in the third round of Group Two of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The camp, which began last Monday, saw Kuwait's Argentine coach Juan Pizzi working diligently to prepare his squad for its first win in the qualifiers. After draws against Jordan (1-1) and Iraq (0-0) in the opening two rounds, Pizzi is focusing on securing a much-needed victory.
Sultan Al-Enezi is expected to join Kuwait's squad after fulfilling his contractual obligations with Dhofar, with whom he signed last Wednesday. FIFA regulations allow professional players 72 hours before a match to join their national teams.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian national team, under Tunisian coach Makram Daboub, has arrived in Basra and is preparing for its upcoming fixtures against Iraq and Kuwait in the third and fourth rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Daboub announced a 27-player roster, with notable returns including goalkeeper Amr Kadoura, defender Mohammed Saleh, and striker Alaa El-Din Hassan.
Goalkeeper Rami Hamada will miss the matches due to an injury sustained before their previous match against Jordan. The team will face Iraq on Thursday before flying to Doha to take on Kuwait at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on October 15.
Palestine currently sits fifth in the group with one point from two matches, trailing group leaders Jordan by three points.
