Kuwait team preparing for the World Cup qualifier against Jordan.

DUBAI, Sept 1: Kuwait concludes its training camp this evening at the Police Officers Sports Club stadium in Dubai before departing tomorrow for Amman, Jordan. The team is set to play against Jordan next Thursday at Amman International Stadium in the opening match of Group Two for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Kuwait has been training intensively at the Emirati camp since August 21. Under the guidance of Juan Pizzi, the technical staff has conducted two training sessions per day—morning and evening—to enhance player fitness and ensure optimal preparation.

Recently, the administrative staff, along with the acting Chairman of the Federation's Board of Directors, Haif Al-Mutairi, met with the players to emphasize the importance of the upcoming qualifiers. They stressed the need for maximum effort to deliver a performance worthy of Kuwaiti football and to secure a positive result in their opening match against Jordan.

The squad appears to be fully prepared for the match, with all players participating in daily training sessions with high morale and a strong desire to be included in the starting lineup.

The Jordan technical staff has announced the addition of Al-Hussein Irbid player Aref Al-Hajj to the squad, replacing Mohammed Abu Zureiq "Sharara," who joined the national camp with a second-degree hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, the Jordanian players were given a brief vacation on Friday before resuming training the night before yesterday. They then returned to the hotel for a closed camp that would continue until the match.

The Jordanian team is also awaiting the arrival of Musa Al-Taamari, who plays for Montpellier in France, and Yazan Al-Arab, who is with Seoul in South Korea.
