LJUBLJANA, June 29: Today marks the beginning of the second phase of our national youth handball team’s training camp in Slovenia. This camp is part of their preparation for the 18th edition of the Asian Championship, which also serves as the 2025 World Cup Qualifiers. The championship will be held in Amman, Jordan, from July 16-26, with Kuwait competing in Group B alongside Iran and China.
Under the guidance of head coach Saeed Hegazy and assistant coach Mohamed Masoudan, the first phase of the camp focused on enhancing technical and physical skills, as well as increasing endurance. During this initial phase, the youth team played two friendly matches against Slovenia and Saudi Arabia. In the second phase, starting today, the coaching staff will concentrate on finalizing the starting lineup for the Asian Championship and will include two additional friendly matches.
Team director Abdulaziz Al-Zaabi expressed satisfaction with the initial preparation phase, noting the clear and multiplied efforts of everyone involved. He praised the players for their commitment both on and off the field, despite the demanding daily schedule.
"We were concerned about the possibility of injuries during the camp, but so far, the team has remained injury-free, and we hope this continues," Al-Zaabi said. He added, "I have full confidence in the players and their ability to perform at a level worthy of the name and reputation of Kuwaiti handball," also extending gratitude to the Handball Federation for its support of the team.
