KUALA LUMPUR, March 10: Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ali Hamada, discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in diplomacy, trade, and the economy during a visit to Bangladesh’s caretaker Prime Minister, Muhammad Yunus, on Sunday.
The Kuwaiti Embassy in Bangladesh issued a statement saying that both sides reaffirmed their commitment to developing relations between the two countries across several key areas. These areas include investment, energy, food security, and employment.
Ambassador Hamada emphasized Kuwait's continued support for the People's Republic of Bangladesh and its caretaker government in their efforts to achieve progress and prosperity. He also reaffirmed Kuwait's support for the Bangladeshi people in achieving security and stability.
On his part, Bangladesh's caretaker Prime Minister, Muhammad Yunus, expressed his appreciation for the strong historical relations between the two countries. He highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation in critical economic sectors. Yunus encouraged Kuwaiti investors to explore opportunities available in Bangladesh’s special economic zones, particularly in the upcoming Investment Summit, scheduled to take place in Dhaka from April 7 to 9. He noted that the summit would present a significant opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
Prime Minister Yunus, who was awarded the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, emphasized the strength of the Kuwaiti-Bangladeshi partnership, stating that it is "based on mutual respect," and reaffirmed the commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, energy, and other areas.
