KUWAIT CITY, Feb 15: After the Cyber Crime Department's successful arrest of a six-member gang of Chinese nationals involved in a sophisticated telecommunications fraud scheme in Kuwait. The group used advanced equipment to target telecommunications towers, sending fraudulent messages and impersonating banks and telecom companies to deceive and defraud victims.

Further investigations led to the arrest of a Kuwaiti citizen and an Egyptian expatriate on charges of residency trafficking. Authorities discovered that the companies responsible for bringing the Chinese suspects into Kuwait on commercial visas were owned by Kuwaiti citizen. He was arrested at his company, while the Egyptian expatriate was apprehended at the airport just before leaving the country. Both individuals confessed to issuing commercial visas for the Chinese suspects in exchange for 100 Kuwaiti dinars per visa.
