KUWAIT CITY Aug 14: The Investigation and Inquiry Department of the Hawalli Governorate has resolved five cases related to vehicle tire theft. A young Kuwaiti man was arrested and he admitted to stealing tires from luxury vehicles, which he then resold by advertising them on social media. He explained that he targeted tires based on specific requests in advertisements, aiming to select those in high demand for quicker sales. To facilitate the thefts, the accused had rented a van to transport the stolen tires.

According to a security source, the repeated reports of tire thefts from luxury vehicles led to a focused investigation, with a team assigned to monitor areas where such vehicles were parked. The team observed an individual next to a vehicle and apprehended him while he was in the process of stealing its tires. During interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing tires in both Hawalli and Ahmadi governorates and reselling them online. The source noted that the accused stated his motivation for the thefts was not drug-related but rather for personal amusement and show.
