KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: A financial dispute involving a young man and three defendants, including a woman and a central prison inmate, escalated into allegations of theft, assault, threats, and unlawful detention, leading to a case filed at Maidan Hawally Police Station.
The complainant, a 34-year-old Kuwaiti citizen, reported being lured to a house in Hawally, where he was beaten, threatened, and detained. He alleged that his vehicle and two bank cards were stolen and submitted a medical report citing bruises and abrasions as evidence.
According to a security source, investigations revealed one of the accused was already imprisoned in the central prison for a separate case. The other two defendants were summoned and denied the allegations of theft and unlawful detention, claiming the dispute was over a sum of money owed by the complainant. They stated that the complainant had fled their house, leaving behind his bag, wallet, and car keys, which were handed over to the police.
When confronted with these claims, the complainant acknowledged receiving his wallet but insisted the bank cards and car keys were missing. Investigators noted inconsistencies in the parties' accounts, and no new evidence was uncovered to clarify the circumstances. Furthermore, the injuries described in the complainant’s medical report could not be conclusively linked to the incident, and the third defendant’s involvement remains uncertain as he has been in custody since November 27. The case remains unresolved, with both sides maintaining their versions of events.
