KUWAIT CITY, July 29: The Criminal Court has sentenced two citizens to lengthy prison terms for joining a banned group. The first defendant received a 17-year sentence, while the second was sentenced to 12 years. Both sentences include hard labor and a five-year supervision period by the Ministry of Interior after their release.

The Public Prosecution conducted thorough interrogations and charged the defendants with several serious offenses. These included joining a group aimed at undermining basic state systems through illegal means, engaging in activities detrimental to national interests, carrying out hostile acts against foreign countries, and financing a terrorist organization with full knowledge of the intended purposes.

The court's decision reflects the severity of the charges and the commitment to maintaining national security and stability.
