KUWAIT CITY, March 9: Kuwaiti courts falling in line with government agencies who have adopted preventive measures to contain the coronavirus said if visitors do not wear face masks and not cautious they will not entertain litigants, defendants, and lawyers, reports Al-Qabas daily.

This is in addition to completing sterilization procedures before entering the courtroom. There are also procedures for prisoners who are taken to courts from the Central Prison. They have been ordered to wear masks as a precautionary measure.

The daily added, inside the Criminal Court special benches are adopting stringent measures and are said to be communicating with attorneys and their clients from a distance forcing the hearings to be shifted to the ‘deliberation hall’ following which the documents are handed over to the court and a verdict is issued after the sessions are over.

Caged defendants are being interrogated in some halls and not directly in front of the judge as was the case before.

However, observers in the courts have made it clear that wearing ‘gloves’ should be compulsory for all visitors to the courts because the virus can be easily transmitted when receiving or handing over documents because the virus can quickly be transmitted in this manner.

Despite the fact that the government service agencies witnessed fewer visitors due to the current state of fear of the corona virus, the Public Prosecution Offices continue to operate as normal and it is believed the number of visitors has not dropped.
