KUWAIT CITY, Mar 4: In a series of recent operations, Kuwaiti security forces have apprehended several individuals involved in drug use and possession, as well as driving under the influence of alcohol.
In Jahra, backup patrols detained a Kuwaiti citizen with a criminal record after catching him using drugs and possessing drug paraphernalia. A security source reported that during a routine patrol at dawn the day before yesterday, officers noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in a cooperative parking lot. Upon investigation, they discovered that the driver, a citizen in his thirties, was under the influence of drugs. A search of his vehicle revealed additional narcotics and drug-related equipment. The suspect was subsequently referred to the General Department for Combating Narcotics for further action.
In a separate incident in Ahmadi, rescue police arrested a Kuwaiti citizen born in 1992 after finding him in possession of a cigarette laced with a narcotic substance, a piece of hashish, drug paraphernalia, and rolling papers. The suspect was also referred to the General Department for Combating Narcotics.
Meanwhile, on the Fourth Ring Road, authorities detained a Gulf national under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. When his vehicle was stopped, officers discovered that the driver was intoxicated and in possession of a water bottle filled with imported alcohol. The individual was referred to the competent authorities for legal proceedings.
These arrests highlight the ongoing efforts by Kuwaiti security forces to combat drug-related offenses and ensure public safety by addressing violations such as driving under the influence. Authorities continue to urge the public to report suspicious activities and cooperate with law enforcement to maintain security and order.
