KUWAIT CITY, April 17: Kuwait’s Maha Al-Saqr is gearing up to compete in the upcoming World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. Scheduled from April 17 to 21, the championships will witness top athletes from around the globe showcasing their talents.
The Gymnastics Federation announced that the national team delegation, led by Lamia Al-Rifai, departed for Baku yesterday. Alongside Al-Rifai, the delegation includes Maha Al-Saqr and Ukrainian coach Yelena Maryasova.
Fahad Al-Soula, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gymnastics Federation, expressed confidence in Maha's abilities to deliver an outstanding performance in rhythmic gymnastics on the international stage. He highlighted the challenging nature of the competition and the caliber of the participating athletes.
Al-Soula emphasized the significance of Al-Saqr's participation in the tournament, where she will face some of the world's most prominent rhythmic gymnastics stars. He noted that the Federation prioritized Maha's involvement in this global event to enhance her skills, gain valuable experience, and boost her self-assurance. Al-Soula commended Maha's dedication to her training regimen, which she diligently pursued while temporarily residing in the United States for her studies.
