Kuwaiti Jailed for Chasing and Crashing into Wife’s Family’s Car

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12: The Misdemeanor Court has sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to one year of hard labor in prison for deliberately chasing and crashing into his wife's family's vehicle in the streets of Ahmadi Governorate in October 2024. The court found the accused guilty of three charges: intentionally damaging the victims' vehicle, reckless and negligent driving that endangered lives, and deliberately obstructing traffic.

The case was brought to trial after the man's wife filed a complaint, stating that while she was traveling with her brother, sister, and children, her husband spotted them, pursued their vehicle, and repeatedly crashed into it in an attempt to force them to stop. The attack was reportedly motivated by ongoing family disputes. The victims' attorney, Khalil Haidar, confirmed that the court carefully reviewed the case details, examined the evidence, and considered both the defendant's confession and witness testimonies before reaching its verdict.
