KUWAIT CITY, July 7: Kuwaiti jiu-jitsu teams showcased their exceptional skills and talent at the Emirates National Championship for Professional Jiu-Jitsu held in Abu Dhabi. On the tournament's first day, the Kuwaiti participants achieved remarkable success, securing a total of nine medals: five gold, three silver, and one bronze in the "cubs and buds" category.

Notable achievers on the first day included Jamal Al-Loughani, Abdulaziz Al-Sulaitin, Suleiman Al-Loughani, Talal Al-Ruwaih, and Ali Al-Azmi, who claimed the gold medals. Khaled Al-Rashed, Ibrahim Al-Kandari, and Saud Al-Ajlan displayed outstanding performances, earning silver medals, while Ahmed Al-Mutairi secured a well-deserved bronze medal.

Expressing his satisfaction with the Kuwaiti teams' performance, Ahmed Al-Rashed, coach of the Kuwait Jiu-Jitsu Academy team, stated that the players exhibited a high level of competitiveness, proving their dominance in the sport. Al-Rashed highlighted that the Kuwaiti teams participated in the championship under the Kuwait Olympic Committee's banner, representing their nation in international tournaments.

He further emphasized that the participation in the UAE Championship aimed to cultivate experience, enhance the players' performance, and instill confidence at their respective levels. The players themselves expressed immense joy in representing their country at the tournament and believed that these achievements would serve as motivation to continue their hard work, elevate their skills in jiu-jitsu, and participate in more international events in the future.

The tournament, organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Professional Jiu-Jitsu Association, will continue until the 9th of this month. The second day will feature the "youth" category, followed by the "amateur and professional" category on the third day.
