ISTANBUL, May 22: Kuwaiti ladies' rhythmic gymnastics continued their outstanding performance for the second day in a row in the Istanbul International Championships, by harvesting more medals. Kuwait Gymnastics Federation said in a statement on Sunday that the team have won three new medals, two gold and one silver, bringing its tally in the tournament to six.

The player of the national team, Fawzia Al-Abdulkarim, won the gold medal in the hoop competition, while the second gold came through the player Sarah Al-Bannai in the scepter competition, whereas Dalal Al-Jassam won the silver medal in the free performance competition. The jury committee awarded the player Nabeela Al-Kharafi after her outstanding performance in the ring competition "Miss Unique", knowing that she ranked the sixth, while Layan Behbehani ranked the eighth in the hoop competition. The tournament is witnessing a large participation from 12 countries including Romania, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Bulgaria, Bosnia, UAE, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey and Kuwait.(KUNA)
