KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: Kuwait’s Court of Cassation has sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to life imprisonment, overturning a previous death penalty ruling, for the murder of a man whose body was buried in the desert along the Eighth Ring Road following a personal dispute.
The case, which initially resulted in a death sentence, involved a premeditated killing where the accused disposed of the victim’s body in a remote desert area. During the investigation, authorities uncovered that the killer’s brother played a role in attempting to destroy evidence by burning the victim’s phone. As a result, the court upheld a two-year prison sentence against him.
The ruling marks the final verdict in the case, ensuring justice is served while altering the original capital punishment
