Kuwaiti Man Jailed for Impersonating Female Singer to Incite Immorality

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 14: The Court of Appeal has upheld a three-year prison sentence with hard labor and a fine of 3,000 dinars against a Kuwaiti citizen convicted of inciting others to commit immoral acts through a social media account. The individual had been operating the account under the guise of a female singer, misleading followers into believing he was a woman.

The case was brought to light after the morals department of MOI arrested the accused for his deceptive online activities. During an earlier hearing at the Criminal Court, the defendant admitted to the charges and expressed regret for his actions. Despite this, the court sentenced him to three years in prison with hard labor and imposed a fine. The accused subsequently appealed the ruling, but the Court of Appeal upheld the original verdict, affirming the conviction and sentence.
