Kuwaiti Marriages to Expat Women Drop by 27%

KUWAIT CITY, April 2: The number of Kuwaiti men marrying expatriate women dropped by 27% in the first three months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

Between January and March 2025, there were 239 marriages between Kuwaiti men and expat women, down from 326 cases in 2024. Marriages to Gulf women ranked highest, with 74 cases—a 60% drop from the previous year. Bedoun Women ranked second with 30 marriages, followed by Iraqi and Syrian women with 26 each, Asian women with 23, and Egyptian women with 14. The list also included 12 Jordanian, 6 Lebanese, and 2 Yemeni women, along with 5 European, 2 American, 3 African, and 16 women of other nationalities.

In the same period of 2024, Kuwaiti men married 122 Gulf women, 27 Iraqis, 54 non-citizens of unspecified nationality, 17 Syrians, 13 Jordanians, 12 Egyptians, 9 Europeans, 8 Lebanese, 8 Palestinians, 6 Yemenis, 5 Africans, 30 Asians, 3 Americans, and 12 women of other nationalities.
