KUWAIT CITY, Jan 9: The Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of prominent media figure Fajr Al-Saeed for 21 days in pretrial custody over allegations related to her public calls for normalization with Israel.
The Ministry of Interior had lodged a formal complaint against Al-Saeed, accusing her of actions detrimental to the country’s interests and in violation of Kuwait’s Unified Law for Boycotting Israel (Law No. 21 of 1964).
The case has sparked widespread discussion as Kuwait maintains a firm stance against normalization with Israel in adherence to its longstanding policies and regional commitments. Further legal proceedings are expected in the coming weeks.
