KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: The Kuwaiti karate team secured third place and a bronze medal in the 2023 Karate 1 Series A Championship held in Portugal by the International Karate Federation. The tournament, featuring participants from 72 countries over three days, witnessed outstanding performances by Kuwaiti players Sayed Salman Al-Moussawi, Sayed Muhammad Al-Moussawi, and Muhammad Hussein in the group kata competition.

Kuwait's Ambassador to Portugal, Hamad Al-Hazeem, conveyed his congratulations on the team's achievement. He interacted with the players, urging them to exert their best efforts to bring honor to Kuwait. Al-Hazeem attended the competitions to closely monitor the Kuwaiti players' performance, provide encouragement, and offer support, aligning with the directives of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait.

Expressing his pride in the team's success, Al-Hazeem highlighted their previous bronze win at the Asian Masters in China last October. Abdulaziz Shaaban, a member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Karate Federation, led the Kuwaiti delegation in the tournament, the final event in the 2023 Karate 1 Series A. He presented a token of appreciation to Ambassador Al-Hazeem on behalf of the Federation's Board of Directors for his invaluable support in transporting the delegation to Porto and encouraging the national team during this international competition.
