HARBIN, China, Feb 1 (KUNA):  Kuwait is set to participate in the 9th Asian Winter Games, held in Harbin, China, from February 7-14, with the largest Arab delegation, according to Fahed Al-Ajmi, Chief of the Kuwaiti mission.

Kuwaiti athletes will compete in four sports: ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating, and curling, Al-Ajmi stated in a press release.

He also confirmed that the Kuwaiti ice hockey team has already arrived in Harbin, the host city of the prestigious pan-Asian event, and is set to face Kyrgyzstan in its opening match.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s curling team will take on Mongolia and Thailand in their respective matchups on Tuesday.

Al-Ajmi highlighted that the tournament will feature over 1,500 athletes from 34 countries, making it one of the most competitive editions of the Asian Winter Games.
