Kuwaiti students Ali Behbehani and Fajr Al-Sahli win silver at the Gulf Science Olympiad

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia, Oct 16: Kuwaiti student Ali Behbehani won a silver medal in chemistry on Tuesday, while Fajr Al-Sahli earned a silver medal in mathematics at the conclusion of the 10th Gulf Science Olympiad (Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics), held in Madinah.

The Kuwaiti student team participating in the Olympiad secured a total of two silver medals and six bronze medals. In physics, students Najat Al-Rifai, Jassim Mohammed, and Ali Al-Basri won bronze medals, while in mathematics, students Hussein Al-Wazzan, Marwa Al-Azmi, and Sarah Al-Humaidi also took home bronze.

The Gulf Science Olympiad began last Saturday with the participation of the Kuwaiti team, comprising 14 male and female students, alongside a group of technical supervisors. The event was organized by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States in cooperation with the Saudi Ministry of Education.

Representing Kuwait in the Physics Olympiad were Ahmed Bader from Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah Secondary School (Mubarak Al-Kabeer Educational District), Jassim Mohammed from Al-Shujaa Bin Al-Aslam Secondary School (Farwaniya Educational District), Najat Al-Rifai from the Creativity and Talent Academy, and Ali Al-Basri from the Creativity and Talent Academy Secondary School (Capital Educational District).

Participating in the Chemistry Olympiad were Ali Behbehani and Khaled Al-Mudarris from the Creativity and Talent Academy Secondary School, as well as Dana Al-Ayyoubi and Jana Al-Jadi from Al-Rawda Talent Classes Secondary School (Capital Educational District).

The Mathematics Olympiad participants included Marwa Al-Azmi from Al-Rawdatain Secondary School (Ahmadi Educational District), Fajr Al-Sahli from Maria Al-Qabtiya Secondary School (Hawalli Educational District), Mubarak Al-Maie and Hussein Al-Wazzan from the Creativity and Talent Academy (Capital Educational District), Abdulrahman Adel from Palestine Secondary School (Hawalli Educational District), and Sarah Al-Humaidi from Cordoba Secondary School (Capital Educational District).

The chemistry delegation was led by Chemistry Technical Supervisor Dr. Faiza Al-Anzi, accompanied by Chemistry Technical Supervisor Fatima Al-Aryan. The physics delegation was headed by Physics Technical Supervisor Abrar Al-Sari’i, along with Physics Technical Supervisor Hessa Al-Majbil. The mathematics delegation was led by Senior Mathematics Supervisor Dr. Maha Al-Anzi, and supported by Senior Mathematics Supervisor Aida Al-Shammari. (KUNA)
