Sheikha Fadia advocates for Arab women’s unified stand against violence in Gaza.

KUWAIT CITY, May 28: Sheikha Fadia Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, President of the Kuwaiti Federation of Women's Societies, has called for the unification of women's voices across the Arab world to pressure relevant United Nations organizations to stop the aggression against the people of Gaza and initiate peace negotiations to resolve the Palestinian issue.

In a press statement issued by the Federation following a ceremony honoring the committees involved in the regional conference on "Arab Women, Security, and Peace... Challenges Facing Women in the Arab World," Sheikha Fadia expressed her gratitude to all contributors to the success of the conference. The event, organized by the Federation with participation from high-level international figures and organizations concerned with women’s affairs, was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in cooperation with the Arab Women’s Organization. It was lauded for its professionalism and received significant regional and international attention.

The conference focused on armed violence against women, a pressing issue currently affecting Arab women, particularly in Gaza, Sudan, Yemen, and other conflict-affected regions. Sheikha Fadia emphasized the importance of raising the voice of Kuwaiti women to align with the political leadership's stance in supporting Palestinian rights in Gaza and advocating for women's rights globally.

“Our goal is to amplify the position of Kuwaiti women on global issues, in line with our political leadership's support for Palestinian rights in Gaza and the protection of women’s rights worldwide, especially concerning the armed violence faced by women in various Arab countries,” she stated.

During the conference, Dr. Fadia Kiwan, Head of the Arab Women’s Organization, highlighted the necessity of an Arab women’s initiative expressing full solidarity with women and girls in Palestine. In her televised speech, she called for a unified voice demanding a ceasefire in Gaza and the pursuit of a just and lasting peace in Palestine.

The call for unity among Arab women aims to address the urgent need for peace and security in conflict-ridden regions, emphasizing the critical role women can play in advocating for and achieving these goals.
