Kuwaitis and Expats Detained Over Narcotics and Bribery Charges

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 26: The Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of three Kuwaitis and expatriates on charges of importing and possessing narcotic and psychotropic substances with the intent to traffic and use them, as well as for bribery and customs smuggling.

According to a statement on the Public Prosecution's official account on the "X" platform, the three defendants allegedly smuggled these substances into Kuwait through Kuwait International Airport. They were reportedly assisted by two customs inspectors from the General Administration of Customs, with one of the inspectors receiving a bribe of ten thousand dinars.

The statement also mentioned that the Public Prosecution has interrogated the accused regarding the charges, and the investigation is ongoing.
