KUWAIT CITY, Sept 18, (Agencies): The United States of America has imposed new sanctions on a number of individuals, including Kuwaitis, due to their connection with the Lebanese Hezbollah, reports Al-Rai daily. According to Al-Arabiya website, a post on the US Treasury Department website Friday stated that Washington has imposed sanctions on a network and individuals linked to the terrorist Hezbollah militia, including several Kuwaitis.

In a press statement, the department disclosed that the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) identified members of a financial network based in Lebanon and Kuwait, who work with financial facilitators and front companies in supporting Hezbollah and the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. It asserted that these individuals or network laundered tens of millions of dollars through regional financial systems and conducted currency exchange and gold trading for the benefit of both the party and the Revolutionary Guard.
