KUWAIT CITY, Feb 20: Angel Gabriella D’Costa is a true child prodigy in the world of cricket, making remarkable strides at a young age. At just 16, she has already etched her name in history as the first Kuwait born player to represent Goa State in cricket, showcasing her immense talent and determination. From being selected as an opening bowler at the Goa State Cricket selection camp to debuting for the Kuwait Senior Women's Cricket Team in the ICC World Cup Asia Qualifiers, Angel’s journey is a testament to her dedication and passion for the sport. Her rapid rise through the ranks of cricket, along with her impressive performances in both domestic and international competitions, positions her as one of the brightest young stars in Indian cricket.

Determined to represent India, Angel made the bold decision to relocate to India in 2022 at just 14, training rigorously for 4-5 hours daily under expert coaches, focusing on strength and functional fitness. Her unwavering commitment and versatility across multiple sports have set her apart as an exceptional athlete.

At just 15, Angel debuted for the Kuwait Senior Women's Cricket Team in the ICC World Cup Asia Qualifiers in Malaysia, proving her talent as a right-arm pace bowler and all-rounder on the international stage. Her sporting journey began even earlier, excelling in multiple disciplines. At age 5, she won a bronze medal in Taekwondo at the Goa State Championship, and by 8, she had already made her mark in basketball, playing as a forward in interschool tournaments. She later earned recognition as the Player of the Team in a throwball competition and secured second place in a 100-meter sprint with a remarkable 14-second finish in 2018.
