KUWAIT CITY, Jan 6: The Kuwait Squash Federation has nominated Board Member Adel Al-Gharib for the position of Vice President of the Asian Squash Federation for the 2025-2029 term. The elections are scheduled to take place on February 16 in Hong Kong during the 45th General Assembly of the Asian Squash Federation, held alongside the 22nd Asian Junior Championship.

Adel Al-Gharib is recognized as one of Kuwait's prominent figures in squash, bringing extensive experience in sports management. Over the years, he has held numerous key positions in sports organizations and played a vital role in organizing several international tournaments in Kuwait.

As a player, Al-Gharib represented Al-Salmiya Club and the Kuwait national team in various Gulf, Arab, and international championships. He was Kuwait and Gulf champion from 1987 to 1997. Within the Squash Federation, he has held roles such as Assistant Secretary-General, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Chairman of the Squash Organizing Committee for the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Notably, the sole candidate for the presidency in the upcoming session is Duncan Shaw, representing Hong Kong.
