Kuwait's Al-Basheer, Sarab win first, third in Qatar Off-Road Championship

DOHA, Nov 13: Salem Al-Sarraf, a Kuwaiti drifter, won the second place in Round 1 of Qatar Drift Championship, 2021 - 2022 season, on Saturday. The regional tournament, organized by Qatar Racing Club, saw the Omani Ahmad Al-Ameri grabbing the trophy after fierce competition. Saud Al-Atiyyah, of Qatar came third after Kuwait's Ali Makhsid was forced to quit due to a technical problem in his car. At the end of the round, Director of Qatar Racing Club Sheikh Jabr Bin Khaled Al Thani honored the three winners. Round 1 lasted two days and gathered 22 drifters from Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Syria and Egypt. The coming round of the five-round championship will be held this December.

Kuwait's Abdulaziz Al-Basheer and Mohammad Sarab won were ranked first and third in the fourth round of the Qatar Off-Road Championship 2021. Al-Basheer achieved first place in the (T3) category on board the Can-Am Maverick X3, after covering a distance of 150 km in 1.46.30 hours.

Sarab came third in the same category, after covering 150 km in 2.36.50 hours. In a statement to KUNA on Saturday, Al-Basheer expressed his happiness in this victory after a tough competition with the champions from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, Britain, Belgium, Russia and South Africa.
