RIYADH, Feb 3, (KUNA): Kuwaiti rally driver Meshari Al-Dhaferi claimed second place in the SSV Rally category at the 2025 Hail Toyota International Rally in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to KUNA, Al-Dhaferi expressed his determination throughout the competition, despite facing mechanical issues on the first day. "This is my fourth time participating in the Hail Rally. I encountered rear-end mechanical difficulties on the first day, which put me six minutes behind the first-place contender," he said.

However, he made a strong comeback on the second day. "I pushed harder and managed to finish in second place," Al-Dhaferi added, emphasizing his eagerness to make up for it in the next event, set to take place in Jordan this April.

Al-Dhaferi also highlighted the importance of competing in the full tournament series, which consists of four events across Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, and the UAE. "I made sure to participate from the start to secure crucial points for the overall championship," he noted.

The Hail Toyota International Rally is a key event in the Middle Eastern rally circuit, attracting top drivers from the region. Al-Dhaferi’s performance reinforces Kuwait’s strong presence in the sport as he continues his quest for victory in upcoming rounds.
