KUWAIT CITY, Jan 10: In a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, Kuwait’s General Department for Combating Drugs has successfully dismantled an international drug network and arrested four individuals involved in smuggling large quantities of narcotics into the country. The network comprised two individuals of Arab nationality, an illegal resident, and a Kuwaiti woman, who were receiving instructions from outside Kuwait to smuggle and distribute drugs locally.

During the operation, authorities seized 16 kilograms of methamphetamine and 10,000 Tramadol pills, cleverly concealed inside two fire extinguishers to evade detection. The innovative hiding method highlights the lengths traffickers go to to bypass security measures.

The Ministry of Interior has reiterated its commitment to combating drug smuggling and trafficking, emphasizing that it will relentlessly pursue those who seek to harm society by spreading narcotics. Authorities have called on the public to cooperate by reporting suspicious activities via the emergency hotline (112) or the General Department for Combating Narcotics hotline (1884141).

This achievement marks another success in Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to safeguard the community from the scourge of drugs and uphold public safety.
