KUWAIT CITY, Jan 3: In anticipation of the upcoming Kuwait Asian Shotgun Shooting Championship (trap and skeet), scheduled to take place at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Ranges Complex from January 12 to January 23, the Supreme Organizing Committee convened for an extensive meeting. Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi, the Committee's Chairman, and Championship Director-General Obaid Al-Osaimi, along with heads of working committees, were present at the meeting.

The committee extensively discussed the ongoing preparations and procedures, emphasizing the meticulous attention to detail across all aspects. The championship holds significant importance as a qualifying event for the 2024 Paris Olympics, drawing attention from the International Shooting Federation and the International Olympic Committee.

Post-meeting, Obaid Al-Osaimi stated that the Supreme Committee conducted inspections of facilities, fields, and equipment related to the tournament's activities. The working committees submitted comprehensive reports on preparations, ensuring that the tournament in Abha reflects Kuwait's reputation for hosting well-organized events.

Al-Osaimi emphasized the commitment of the Federation and the Shooting Club's Board of Directors to early preparation, given the tournament's role as a qualifier for the Paris Olympics. The event garners attention from the International Shooting Federation and the International Olympic Committee.

The Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations, also the Championship Director, extended gratitude to His Highness Prince Sheikh Mishal for supporting the sport and fellow shooters. Thanks were also extended to the General Sports Authority and relevant ministries for their support in preparing for this significant event.

Al-Osaimi announced upcoming workshops for referees in collaboration with the International Shooting Federation to ensure their readiness to manage all stages of the tournament. Additionally, a press conference is scheduled at the club's headquarters next Saturday at noon to present detailed information about the championship.
