MANAMA, Bahrain, Jan 14: Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Affairs, Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Duaij Al-Sabah, emphasized the importance of enhancing women’s leadership, empowering women, and involving them in all sectors, especially the economic sector.
She made these remarks in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during her participation in the "Global Women's Economic Forum and Exhibition," which began on Monday. The event is organized by the Bahraini Businesswomen’s Society and is sponsored by the President of the Supreme Council for Women, Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa. The forum has seen wide participation from Gulf, Arab, and international delegates.
Sheikha Jawaher Al-Sabah noted that the forum presents an opportunity to exchange experiences, ideas, and success stories among female entrepreneurs, highlighting their crucial role in the comprehensive development process. She stressed that empowering women is essential for achieving a better and more sustainable future across all fields.
She also commended the successes of Gulf and Arab women, who have proven their efficiency and excellence in various aspects of life. She praised the strong organization of the Bahraini Businesswomen’s Society and expressed her gratitude to the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting the forum, which aims to elevate the status of women in the economic sector.
Ahlam Janahi, the President of the Bahraini Businesswomen’s Society, also spoke at the forum’s opening, emphasizing that this event is not only a platform for trade exchange and professional networking but also an opportunity for women from diverse cultures and backgrounds to share experiences and innovative ideas. She noted that women’s role in the economy has become more crucial than ever in the contemporary world.
Janahi highlighted the significant achievements of Bahraini women in various sectors, attributing their success to the support and attention they have received from the country's wise leadership, which has helped them reach their distinguished position.
The forum focuses on the achievements of businesswomen in corporate management and positions Bahrain as a business-friendly hub for financial transactions and international trade. It also aims to create opportunities for businesswomen to engage in trade, exchange experiences and goods, and foster specialized businesses that connect Bahraini businesswomen with the global business community.
The four-day forum features an exhibition showcasing participating companies, while the conference program includes five discussion panels: "Innovative Diplomacy: The Role of Women in Shaping Legal Frameworks," "Future Readiness: The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Education and Society," "Investing in Security: The Future of Cyber Projects," "Inclusive Growth: Financial Strategies for the Success of Entrepreneurs," and "Economic Innovation: The Role of Creative Industries in Development."
