KUWAIT CITY, April 6: Abdullah Al-Salem University (ASU) has announced the organization of the first "Higher Education in the Age of Innovation Summit," which will take place on April 16-17. The event is under the patronage of Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and will feature participation from a distinguished group of education leaders, technology experts, and researchers from both Kuwait and abroad.
Dr. Moudi Al-Humoud, Chairperson of the university’s founding board of directors, stated in a press release on Sunday that the summit reflects the university's dedication to supporting innovation and excellence in higher education. This initiative aligns with Kuwait’s Vision 2035 and comes at a critical moment, aiming to keep pace with the fast-evolving digital landscape.
Al-Humoud emphasized that the summit contributes to Kuwait’s sustainable development goals and plays a vital role in building creative human capital capable of competing both regionally and globally. She further noted that the event serves as a national platform to unify perspectives and guide future policies toward an innovative educational model driven by artificial intelligence, data analytics, and efficient digital governance.
The summit will cover several key topics, including the digital transformation of universities, adaptive curricula supported by technology, cybersecurity, the role of virtual and augmented reality in education, and mechanisms for funding scientific research. Additionally, it will focus on the integration between educational institutions and the productive sectors.
In conjunction with the summit, there will be an innovation and technology exhibition where university students from Kuwait will present their outstanding projects, showcasing the depth of local talent and strengthening their role in shaping Kuwait’s digital economy.
Al-Humoud expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all supporting organizations and invited universities, educational institutions, government bodies, and research centers to actively participate in the summit. She encouraged all involved to contribute to building the future foundations of an advanced national educational vision, integrating knowledge and technology to achieve success.
