KUWAIT CITY, March 17:  The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies (KIJLS) on Sunday. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in qualifying and training national legal personnel, as well as in exchanging expertise and training programs.

The MoU was signed by DGCA Chairman Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and KIJLS Director Hani Al-Hamdan.

Sheikh Humoud Al-Sabah expressed that the signing of the MoU marks an important step in preparing and qualifying the department’s employees. These employees' roles require legal awareness and knowledge to effectively carry out their supervisory duties over relevant authorities in the field of civil aviation.

He emphasized that the MoU aligns with international standards set by organizations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), aiming to achieve the highest levels of air safety and civil aviation security.

Sheikh Humoud explained that the collaboration with the institute will support air transport market inspectors from a legal perspective. This cooperation aims to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, guidelines, and circulars issued by civil aviation, ultimately safeguarding the rights of travelers and investors in the sector.
