KUWAIT CITY, Sept 22: According to figures and statistics from the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, 1,133 Kuwaitis have been appointed in the technical and administrative sectors during the last eight months of 2024. The statistics reveal that the Kuwaitization rate in the ministry increased to 97.6 percent in August from 97.5 percent in January.

This brings the total number of employees to 35,506, which included 34,666 Kuwaitis and 840 non-Kuwaitis, as of August 2024. In January this year, the total number of employees was 34,395, comprising 33,533 Kuwaitis and 862 non-Kuwaitis. This means there was a decrease of 22 expatriates due to the Kuwaitization policy and retirements during the mentioned period

Informed sources from the ministry noted that appointments are being made in line with the annual requirements of the ministry’s sectors and their needs for specific technical and administrative roles. These appointments are processed through the Civil Service Commission, based on the established frameworks and regulations.
