Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister visits key security facilities in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH, Dec 24: Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah visited several important security facilities in Saudi Arabia on Monday as part of his official visit to the Kingdom.

According to a statement from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, Sheikh Fahad toured the Saudi National Center for Security Operations (911) on the second day of his official visit to Riyadh. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif. During his visit, Sheikh Fahad received a detailed briefing on the center’s role in providing security services to both citizens and residents, as well as the advanced technologies used to receive reports and direct the relevant authorities in addressing them.

Sheikh Fahad then continued his tour with a visit to the Saudi National Cybersecurity Authority, where he was accompanied by Acting Head of the Kuwaiti National Cybersecurity Center, Dima Al-Sumait, and other members of the accompanying delegation. He was greeted by Minister of State and Cabinet Member, Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi National Cybersecurity Authority. During this visit, Sheikh Fahad was briefed on the Authority’s efforts in enhancing and protecting cybersecurity in Saudi Arabia, as well as its support to security agencies on cybersecurity issues.

The next stop on his tour was King Fahd Security College, where Sheikh Fahad was welcomed by Major General Ali Al-Duaij, the Director General of the college. He watched a documentary about the college and its Women's Institute and was briefed on the educational and security programs offered in the fields of security studies and research.

Sheikh Fahad also visited the Reform and Rehabilitation Center, where he was received by Deputy Chief of State Security, Abdullah Al-Owais. During his visit, he learned about the center’s specialized programs focused on intellectual and psychological rehabilitation, aimed at enhancing intellectual security and reintegrating individuals into society.

The final stop on his tour was the General Directorate of Border Guards, where he was received by Major General Shaya Al-Wadani, the Director General of Border Guards, along with several security leaders. Sheikh Fahad was briefed on the Border Guards' work and their responsibilities in protecting Saudi Arabia’s land and sea borders.

Throughout the tour, Sheikh Fahad praised the human and technological advancements he observed in these sectors, noting their role in enhancing security and stability in Saudi Arabia according to the highest international police standards. He expressed his appreciation for the distinguished efforts of the Saudi Ministry of Interior and extended his best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the Kingdom, its leadership, government, and people.

Sheikh Fahad also commended the security achievements of both Kuwaiti and Saudi police forces in combating crime in all its forms, emphasizing the strong coordination and cooperation between the security services of the two brotherly countries.

Accompanying Sheikh Fahad on the tour were Kuwait’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and a security delegation from Kuwait.
