KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: The Kuwaiti futsal national team has secured its official qualification for the Asian Cup finals, scheduled to take place in Thailand in April 2024. This achievement came after an impressive victory over the East Timor national team, with a resounding score of (8-1) in the sixth group of qualifiers, hosted by Bahrain.
Team captain, Abdulaziz Al-Bassam, expressed his admiration for the tremendous efforts put forth by the Kuwaiti team players during the qualifiers, which culminated in a well-deserved qualification for the finals.
Al-Bassam also conveyed his optimism for the upcoming matches, hoping that the team would maintain its exceptional performance and secure the top position in the group with a perfect score in the Asian Cup, slated for April 2024 in Thailand. Additionally, he spoke of the team's aspirations to compete for the championship and qualify for the World Cup finals in the same year.
The Kuwait indoor football team showcased their dominance against East Timor, achieving a commanding victory of (8-1) during their match held at the Khalifa City Sports Hall in the sixth group qualifiers for the Asian Cup.
The Kuwaiti team, started the game strongly, securing five goals against their opponents. East Timor managed to score their solitary goal in the last minute of the first half, with the score at (5-1).
In the second half, the Kuwaiti team continued to assert their dominance, adding three more goals to their tally, resulting in a final score of (8-1) in favor of Kuwait.
Group Six, which will continue its competitions until October 11, comprises teams from Kuwait, East Timor, Bahrain, and Brunei. (KUNA)
